working on the back wall 'screen'

More investigation into the back wall surface was required. The objects initially were going to be quite thick, but after looking at how much space we need in our truck (the whole show needs to fit in a 3 ton truck) I am now playing with ways of creating depth with a repetitious laser cut pattern. Can you use flat objects in an interesting way to convey depth?. The above images are the result of playing with the flat objects in 1:10 scale. I like the texture. These would be engineered to screw into each other in the venue and be rigged to one bar (all different venues will have different rigging possibilities) with a system of risers or spanners between the two levels. They would be constructed from core flute and would make a great projection surface.
